How to set up wifi without ethernet

Hello,

I'm trying to use Runeaudio with pi 3, but actuelly I can't.
I can't use the ethernet of my router, but i want to use the wifi.
Can I set up the wifi (ssid and password) during (of after) the sd flashing ?
If not, how can I use a wifi access point to configure it with the web interface ?
If not, how can I connect my RPi3 to my PC (Ubuntu) with direct ethernet (ad hoc) ?

Hello,

For the router I can't because it's my neightbours' router. I can ask them to use it once of course, but every time I want to configure my wifi to an other distribution I'll have to do the same... Not the good way, i prefer to make it myself.

How to know if I have static or dynamic ip ?
I tried it (in root of course) but doesn't work...



May I keep the "" for the ssid and password ?

I found a way to connect to the UI !
On Windows 7 I made a bridge connection between my wifi and my ethernet.

So I can get to the UI, but how could I configure the wifi ? It doesn't appear on the runeaudio UI...

Look at the picture, no wifi network for Runeaudio but my PC (50cm near the PI) sees lot of wifi networks :


What should I do next ?

Hi Rony,

Are you shure that you have a Pi3?
Is the WiFi disabled in /boot/config.txt?

The wlan0 entry has to be there, if a WiFi device is available.

Yes, very sure because with Volumio and MoOde the wifi works.

I just spotted something wrong... RuneAudio tell me that my raspberry Pi is a Pi 2 but not a Pi 3. But the IMG I use is the good one...

i would start with a fresh image.
On a RP3 the wlan0 entry has to be there.
