Newbie Post

Postby CJT80 » 13 Jun 2016, 10:33

Good Morning,

I am new to both Rune Audio and the Raspberry Pi. I have a Pi 2 Model B, with a HiFi Berry DAC+ standard RCA.

I have 2 problems as follows:

I cannot select the HiFi Berry DAC+ from the list in Rune Audio's UI. As I am new to Pi and Rune Audio I am unsure what to do next to get it working. Can anyone please advise?

Secondly I am trying to "mount" a WD My Book Live 3TB NAS Drive in Rune Audio so that I can play back my stored music, I keep getting an error message: mount error: could not resolve address for 192.168.x.xxx: Unknown error. Now I know that the IP address is correct, as I have checked it within the WD's Dashboard. I have been advised to provide a Debug log as well, which I will post below this as it exceeds the maximum number of characters!

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Kind Regards,

CJT.

http://www.runeaudio.com/documentation/ ... put-boards

This helps to install the DAC. Please read the troubleshooting page.

Please disable wlan or ethernet. Do NOT use wlan and ethernet at the same time in the same NETWORK !

Hi CJT80,

try this....

Go to Sources > Add new mount

Source name = Doesn't matter what you call this, it's just a name you assign so you know how to find it inside the RuneAudio UI.

Fileshare protocol = Depends on what protocol your using on the NAS, try SMB/CIFS initially... if that doesn't work then try NFS. I am not sure what protocol the WD My Book Live 3TB NAS Drive uses, maybe check the manual that came with it.

IP address = The IP address of your NAS, in your case 192.168.1.103

Remote directory = Important, the name of the folder on the NAS that has been shared. You need to find the name of the folder!

Guest access = Turn this "on", but I find it useless. I use the below settings works better for my Windows shared folder.

Username = You must find out the user name that enables access on the NAS.

Password = You must find out the password for the above user name that enables access on the NAS.

If you have already tried all these steps and it's still not working then don't fret, someone will hopefully come along and have a look at your debug information and provide some further assistance.

Regards,

rastus.

Thank you rastus

I tried again and got this error

Retrying with upper case share name mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Hi CJT80,

have you tried accessing the WD My Book Live 3TB NAS Drive from your PC?

I have taken screen shots of my issue here:

I cannot seem to see what I need to do regarding the advance options and the "cache-none" option. What should go there?

Thanks in advance.
