[SOLVED] No album art on RPI3 - v0.4

Postby ghervasze » 18 Jul 2016, 07:08

Hey guys and kudos for this sweet project.

I have installed the last RA version (0.4) on my RPI3 and it worked flawlessly, the first time I tried. I am playing back FLAC files over a wired LAN from a Ubuntu server, via NFS. However, the middle rectangle on the display remains empty - well, with a "rune" in it. The toggle with the album covers is set to ON by default in the settings. It seems it tries to search for something but in about two seconds the "rune" appears. EXCEPT for a few tracks, where the album cover appears. It took me a while to discover that those tracks had the artwork embedded in the tag. Should the server not recover the art from an online service (last.fm) based on the album tag? I have a farely organised collection, correctly tagged and all. Also, I am talking about several mainstream albums, not obscure ones.Is there something I have to configure? If I play those tunes back on my PC with foobar, I get all the art and info every time. So please give me a hand on this, I am new to RPI/RA.Thanks for your time.

Hi ghervasze,

welcome to RuneAudio.

Rune tries to get the cover from different places in this order:

1. embedded
2. folder.jpg / cover.jpg / folder.png / cover.png
3. lastFM
4. no cover

I did some tests not long ago and it should work with latest image.

Are you able to play Webradios? (Is your Pi able to access the internet?)

Hey and thank you for the response. I am all out of ideas. Webradios work fine, which means the internet connection is ok. I have already tried re-tagging everything fresh to no avail. I tried to go to last.fm and do a manual search on the album the way it shows in the tag field. Surely enough it found it. Here are two screenshots of files playing. One with an embedded image and the other without. You can see the file details.

Nevermind. I reloaded the library and now it works for some reason. I also toggled album art off and on again. Go figure.
