Pi Image not booting Pi 3B+

I've downloaded the Pi 2/3 Image and when the PI boots, I just get the multicolour splash screen and it hangs there.

I have checked the SD card by using the PI Desktop image and the PI boots properly to that.

Any Ideas?

My Pi 3B+ will not boot Rune. It was working well for a long time until I tackled my stereo's wiring mess and reloaded an image. Now it will not boot Rune at all. Other images are OK - Raspbian, Moode, Volumio, Pi Hole, Rern's 202207101 latest. The PI2 image works too. The image which used to work well now sits in dumb insolence at the splash screen, on both of my 3B+'s . Could the image be faulty? I see from recent posts that there are others with the same problem, but they have had no replies. Moode and Volumio ... are calling me, not my preference but they are my only choices. This forum seems only good for pointing to Rern.
