Pi1 - RuneAudio - HiRes Audio

Postby Cavaradossi » 22 Jun 2015, 12:40

Hi comminity,

i am completely new to raspberry pi and the whole linux stuff, so i need a little help for setup my raspberry pi . I've configired runeaudio for playback my audio files (from SMB share) over HDMI, connected to my Yamaha AV Receiver. But unfortunately i've noticed, that all music files are resampled to 48kHz and playback of mulichannel HiRes files doesn't work (only 2 channel with noisy, crackling sound).
Maybe i am doing something wrong or is the pi1 hardware limited. I hope, you can help.

Thanks in advance

What does your Yamaha receiver tell you ? I believe you're right about the downmixing of multichannel audio, but for stereo files, you shouldn't have any resampling.

On the Rpi side, there may be an issue in the sound driver that deals with HDMI.

Thanks for reply, Aquarius. My Yamaha tells me, that all files are resampled to 48kHZ. Playback is working fine with Windows 8.1/foobar2000/WASAPI, so the Yamaha is ok. Tomorrow i will do some test with Raspberry Pi 2.
