Playlist question

Postby washburn_it » 31 Dec 2015, 13:29

Hi,

is there a way or a setting (even if I didn't find it) so that when I turn on the Rune-server the current track of the playlist is the last played before it was turned off?
I noticed that everytime it starts, the playlist currently loaded starts (again) from the 1st track.
Thank you, regards and Happy New 2016.

Hi Roberto,

is there a way or a setting (even if I didn't find it) so that when I turn on the Rune-server the current track of the playlist is the last played before it was turned off?

This is exactly the way it works for me on my Pi2 with "state file" enabled on the MENU->MPD page.

That option is already enabled but it didn't work the way that is expected.
It's installed on a B+, maybe is a bug of the release for that version of PI?
May I do something?

I also have a B+, and the feature works as intended; maybe some hick-up in write permissions?

I could try to disable, save and then enable and save to see what happens...

Hi washburn_it,

i do not have a RP1 running here, so i am unable to test and help at the moment.

Please take a look at the mpd state file (/var/lib/mpd/mpdstate).
Code: Select all
[root@runeaudio ~]# cat /var/lib/mpd/mpdstate
sw_volume: 1
audio_device_state:1:bcm2835 ALSA_1
audio_device_state:1:bcm2835 ALSA_2
audio_device_state:1:snd_rpi_hifiberry_dacplus
state: stop
current: 2
time: 4.707000
random: 0
repeat: 0
single: 0
consume: 0
crossfade: 0
mixrampdb: 0.000000
mixrampdelay: -1.000000
playlist_begin
0:NAS/MyMusic/Filmmusik/The Dark Knight Rises Soundtrack/10.fear.will.find.you.mp3
1:NAS/MyMusic/Vienna Symphonic Orchestra Project/Classic & Rock - Die neue Dimension/01.Sledgehammer.flac
2:NAS/MyMusic/David Elias/07 - David Elias - Acoustic Trio - Rodeo On A Ridge (DSD64).dsf
3:NAS/MyMusic/David Gilmour/[2008] Live In Gdansk,Disc 2/04. High Hopes.flac
4:NAS/MyMusic/Fleetwood Mac/Fleetwood Mac - Tusk (2004) {Disc 2 of 2}/05 - Lindsey's Song #1 (I Know I'm Not Wrong).flac
playlist_end

As you can see, mine is written each time i shutdown or restart rune audio.
The actual playlist and the current track gets saved in this file.

You can test this by executing these commands:
Code: Select all
systemctl restart mpd
cat /var/lib/mpd/mpdstate

An other thing that could happen, is that your state file is corrupted.

Could I delete that file so that it is recreated?

I didn't try to delete the file (to try this I have to dismount everything from the car) but I tried:

- to turn off from the Rune GUI while playing the playlist
- to stop the playlist and turn off

in both situations, after the reboot, the playlist started from the 1st song so, for a reason that I don't know, it seems not to save MPD data or, if data are saved, not to load saved data.
Volume level is correctly restored after a reboot but I don't know if that value is saved into the same file.
Is there other tests that I can do?
Regards,
