Hi Frank,

thanks for the tip. The group audio already existed but the second command did the trick concerning chown -R audio.mpd /mnt/MPD. But the only sign of life is nginx is running but needs to be configured on http://ip.address.

One question if I would like to install your mpd version with pipe out, do I need to uninstall the normal package first? And can I do this? Is your version pipe out only or can I choose between standard mpd and mpd with pipe?

Hi Frank,

that is a big file to go through in order to find a mistake. From the error messages. I assume it is a problem with permissions, although I do not know whether the error is in the nginx download or in the /temp/ folder, likewise with the permission problem concerning samba. It will take me a while to go through that.

Hi Frank,

the nginx.conf file in your link looks very different from what I find when opening the file in /etc/nginx/ in my installation. I changed the user line first and tried that, now the only info I get is cannot connect to server. I will not be able to solve this. Can I use your mpd package on a normal Arch Linux installation? What do I need to do in order to configure it with pipe out and what do I need to do in order to configure it with pipe out?

Hi,

as I said earlier the nginx.conf file in Frank's link looks nothing like the one in my installation. As a newbie to Linux I am not able to sort this out. I do not even know whether the conf file for raspberry works on my C1. Thanks to Frank for being helpful and getting me so far but I have decided not to pursue this anymore. If sometime in the future Orion will come up with apackage built (or whatever it is called) I will gladly give it a try.
