In my current setup, see my signature, I'm using a HTPC with OpenElec to watch movies, pictures but also listen to music. The drawback of OpenElec is that it has to many features when using a control app on a tablet or smartphone to control it only for listening to music.
So I'm considering to add a solution like Rune audio based on as Raspberry and connect it directly to the USB DAC input of the Emotiva XMC-1 for listening to music / radio stations. It has also the advantage that the TV can be switched off.
But before I decide to buy a Raspberry and start building the solution I've a few questions which I couldn't yet found an answer for.
1] When I add the network folder (Synology NAS) where all of my music is stored. Will it be possible to browse through the folder structure or will Rune Audio scan the metadata of the files (FLAC) in the sub-folders and create a library?
2] Does Rune Audio support multiple libraries?
3] How does Rune audio cope with large libraries?
Why these questions? In my current folder structure I created in the "top" level a folder for Classic music, Pop music, music for our children and a folder for my electronic music. As my collection of electronic music is rather big (more than 30 years of passionate buying of albums results in a collection of nearly 1500 albums - 500 GByte of FLAC files) it is not handy to have this large collection part of a single library with the other music. So that is the reason I would like to have it at least muliple libraries or just having the possibility to browse through the folder structure.
