R.A.P.0.3 beta question/remark

Postby remopas » 05 Nov 2014, 13:51

I just start to use R.A.P. as music player.
I think i find a strange behavior with new R.A.P. 0.3 beta in combination with a raspberry pi B with a hifiberry "B" dac.
I am using one USB stick with all kinds of music, but also Spotity playlists.
If i play from USB no problems at all. If i play next any playlist from spotify, no problems at all too.
The problem occurs when i TRY to switch back from spotify to USB again!
The Spotify area keeps highlighted when i try to re-activate the USB area in the browser screen.
Hopefully you are able to find out what the problem is (bug?) or you can advise me what to do.
Thank you in advance for your most appreciated help.
Cheers

Hi remopas,
the switch between MPD and Spotify is supposed to happen normally in both directions.
Can you check your browser if you have some javascript errors in console?
If not, go to the DEV screen () and try to restart both workers (rune_SY_wrk and rune_PL_wrk) and see if the problem disappears.

Thanks ACX for your most appreciated fast reply.
I didn't find any Java issues.
I do not understand your last sentance. (i don't have much knowledge of software)
I could be that my SD card became corrupt for some reason, so i will do another trial with a fresh software install.
Could it have something to do with the Raspberry Pi's internal firmware or software, or probable SD card problems?
I have been trying other players as well (picoreplayer-volumio), which show both some kind of problems too.

update
After reinstalling the RuneAudio software on the (micro)SD card i still have the same problem, so i try to find out where it's going wrong.
All white text in all 6 areas are at the "browse the library" page, are all highlighted at first.
The system find/mounts automaticly the music on the attached usb stick during configuration proces.
All music from the USB stick can be choosen and played.
it still goes OK when i configurate Spotify into the system as well and can activate the Spotify area at the "browse the libray" page.
Music from Spotify can be choosen and playing the music from it is OK as well.
As soon as i try to return from playing Spotify music back (with the return button) to "browse the library" the Spotify area is highlighted and all others are grayed and are impossible to activate.
Hopefully you are able to figure out what the problem could be and find an answer for it.

If I'm understanding correctly, I think this is the normal behaviour. I posted about how hard it was to figure out how to return from Spotify. On the playback page, you have to click Spotify, and then select MPD from the source selection popup. Hope that solves it. I believe there are plans to improve the user experience on this point.

If i stop playing Spotify files by hitting the stop button, than the back button to enter onto the highlighted Spotify area i don't get the popup to move to the mounted USB stick via mpd again. So you can 't go back out of Spotify at all, Apart of that, it is not very clear how to work with this options.
Preferable should it be made possible to switch directly by hitting any of the needed switch areas on these fields.(one out of six)

I am unable to check this. I did try to get some help on this issue, but no one give me a hand.
I am very sorry but I don't know how to handle this.(not familiar with Linux systems)
Hopefully someone else can do this for me instead.
