raspberry pi 2 "shut down" after a while

Postby oshimapt » 14 Jul 2016, 11:17

hi guys!

first, great project here!!!

well, i have a raspberry pi2 with a hifi berry digi plus card. it works really well. the sound is good, no crackling or strange noises.

the problem is that if it stays too much time in idle i look like the pi shuts it self down. even the light of the network connection on the router its off.

i though it was problem of the pi or sd card, but if i use volumio this do not happens.

it happens with dhe beta 0.3 and 0.4.

any ideas?

Hi, I've been using Runeaudio on my Raspberry Pi2 b for a while now using the 03/2016 version. Love it, but, I have same issues where the Raspberry does appear to freeze. I have noted that it sometimes happens when I've been using Spotify. It is noted that Spotify in Rune is 'experimental', and it is a bit glitchy (I use it a lot). When it plays up, you've got to try and get back to MPD, reboot and everything is usually ok. If you don;t use Spotify I guess this is a waste of space reply!

@chrisryburn:

don't think so. my mout and works really well.
try to configure guess access on the windows machine and try it. or you could use a password on the windows machine.

@dror:

no i do not use spotify. it happens even if it isn't doing a thing.

any way, i think i found the problem. it seems to be on the power supply. i was using the usb charg future of my desktop, and it boot ok, but after a while it look like was dead.
after reading some faq about the pi, i notice that the powerled do no remain lid. this indicates prolems on the power supply. saw this here: http://www.runeaudio.com/documentation/ ... eshooting/

changed to a good power supply, the led remains lid and the pi looks more stable.

thanks for the help and hope this helps other too.
