Raspberry Pi 2B - Network Share Errors

Hello all,

I need some help getting a network share to mount please. I have shared a folder from my NAS (Open Media Vault) but I cannot get it to mount in RuneAudio.

Settings for OMV Shared Folder:
- Hostname: OpenMediaVault
- IP address: xxx.xxx.xxx.49
- Shared folder: shares/OMV_Music/
- Name: OMV_Music
- Public: Only guests
- Shared via: SMB/CIFS

Shared settings on RuneAudio:
- Source name: OMV_Music
- Fileshare protocol: SMB/CIFS
- IP address: I've tried xxx.xxx.xxx.49, OpenMediaVault, and OpenMediaVault.local
- Remote directory: I've tried both OMV_Music/ and shares/OMV_Music/ with and without the trailling slash
- Guest access: ON


Errors:
using OpenMediaVault and OpenMediaVault.local - mount error: could not resolve address for OpenMediaVault.local: Unknown error

using xxx.xxx.xxx.49 - Unable to find suitable address.

I realized that the SMB/CIFS share was not enabled in OMV. Got that sorted out and now I have some new errors.

using Remote directory: shares/OMV_Music/ or shares/OMV_Music
Error: Retrying with upper case share name mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

using Remote directory: OMV_Music/
Error: mount error(13): Permission denied Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

If I read your post correctly your fix was adding a space in the directory name. There are no spaces in the name of my shared directory on the NAS so that can't be it.

Hi all - Well I get it working, unfortunately I'm not sure what fixed it.

Originally I was using OMV on a Raspberry Pi. I abandoned that and installed OMV on an old desktop machine.

After setting up the new OMV Runeaudio was able to connect to the shared folder right away.
