Raspberry PI 3 RuneAudio review

Postby zakkW » 06 Apr 2016, 15:37

Hello,
Just a brief feedback on the installation of RuneAudio on Raspberry PI 3...
I would like implementing a simple audio server connected to a USB DAC 24-bit (ESS 9023). I first tried a last release of Ubuntu for Raspberry, compliant PI 3, then adding audio player like Foobnix... Even if PI 3 is the hardware offering the best performances for Raspberry, system was unstable and I had a lot of disappointment when music stops every 20 seconds... I definitely discard Ubuntu and downloaded RuneAudio image. All is quite simple, everything worked fine at first attempt, LAN, WiFi and DAC detected in a wink, execution speed is amazing, interface is magic, offering high-end player and great sound experience... All has been well thought here and I would like to thank a lot RuneAudio team for their creativity, their keen sense of details, the awesome global performances and especially the amazing interface with a great look and feel when you use RuneUI! To notice a wide available MPD compliant applications. RuneAudioAirPlay is another incredible feature, streaming your audio from mobile, everything being done without any TFT or HDMI screen connected to the Raspberry... Thanks a lot for everything, great job, you rock guys!!!
