read only root file system

Hi rune team,
thanks for your work!

a feature i am missing is having a read only root file system that you just can switch of the computer without shutting down. I have atached my raspberry to the radio i am using, and switch it together. It would also greatly improve the lifetime of the sd card.
I know this feature from voyage linux (alix boards)
I conigured an ro root with raspian (just put some dirs in an tempfs) others done this with an union fs.
So maybe just a switch in the web interface to switch from rw to ro and back for configuration.

Hi guido, I have that feature in mind since the first time I tried Voyage MPD more than a year ago. We should find a way to integrate it seamlessly with the system and make it more robust.
After the release of the 0.3-beta we will publish a cookbook of the distro that will help contributers to interact with its development.

The cookbook is an excellent idea ACX. Not having to go on a (even though it's an adventure in itself) treasure hunt, will simplify everything.
