After a power outage there is a risk you got an or some important files corrupted. The easiest and fastest way to get your system up & running is maybe to format your SD card and rewrite OS image unless a geek understand this message that look too complex for me... I just hope you remember your config.

Creating an image of a fully configured installation takes 10 minutes and another 10 minutes it will take, if data on a corrupted memory card will no longer will be readable, to restore this image. From my point of view this is fairly easy.
On the other hand there exist numerous battery/accu packs to add to the raspi which at least offer the possibility to shutdown the Raspi in a save way if the power ever fails.

Hi ...
Over the past couple of years I've had file corruption more than once.
It is always possible to start over by burning a new image and doing your configuration again.
But that is a hassle especially if your RPi is hooked up to an amp & speakers in a listening location without ethernet connection.
It is much easier to make a backup as soon as you've got your configuration right.
I'm on Windows and use paid for Hard Disk Manager by Paragon Software to make backup copies of both partitions on the SD card.
There is a free version that seems to have the basic functionality needed ...

Hope this helps ... for the future

Hi all,

the best solution for these problems would be to have a read only file systems.

I'm working on this, but time is the problem here.

So far I always used the same Image writing software as I use to write the image to the SD card for taking an image of a configured installation.
This is easy to use and worked always, so far.
@ Frank
Would it be possible to have a read only system?
Would only a part of the files be set to read only or would it be possible to set the whole content to read only, once everything would be configured?
Would playlists etc. then be stored in some kind of a RAM of the Raspberry?

utschu ...
Yours is a simple and effective backup solution. I assume you have 2 SD cards - a "good" copy running in the RPi and a second "good" copy as a master.
I use Win32DiskImager that images a whole disk/USB stick/SD card. This does not allow me to just copy the second partition (ext4) to a USB 3.0 stick. I run the OS from a USB 3.0 stick which I think is faster and less prone to corruption than an SD card.
For that reason I use the Paragon Hard Disk Manager - it is more flexible.

Thanks for the infos.
I finally ended up in writing a new RuneAudio image on the SD card.

I will investigate on how to build a small UPS power supply for the Pi with batteries just for some minutes. It shall then indicate to the Pi to power down (shutdown request). When the power is back it shall power on again.
I do not want to spend my time in copying images. Especially when everything is boxed I do not want to unbox the pi all the time.

Cheers
