Remount network mounts....

Postby timberdog » 21 Oct 2015, 21:42

HI, after a very steep learning curve I am stuck as to why I keep having to 'remount' my network drive(s)/folders??
My music is stored on an external usb drive on a pc (under the stairs) and half the time I go to look at the library the network mounts have to be remounted or put in again from the start....its SO frustrating. My media PC stays on and the Rpi stays on but it seems to just loose the link.....It then take up to 15 mins to re-link the files again.
I have been looking for a decent media streamer for my converted 50's radio - a reliable, consistant solution.... Been through Volumio, Max2play and several others so far........
Thanks in advance for any help or advice but please bear in mind, a week ago I started to convert the radio and only got a Rpi on saturday so I'm a bit green with regard what I'm doing......;)

HI Frank,
My hardware is the Rpi b+ and version RuneOs: 0.3-beta (build 20141029)
RuneUI: 1.3

Debug attached..

I have setup a static ip due to the Vintage radio being turned off at points (probably by my wife) and it's always nice to know the ip;)
Its been such a headache for for someone new to Rpi but can I be assured that it should work seamlessly once initially setup and running (or perhaps Run-in!) - I'm already looking at other vintage radios......
The runeaudio player (in browser) also seems to be 'connecting.....' rather a lot , strange considering the wireless router is about 10 feet away....I wonder if my initial 'testing' period should be on a lan cable.....

Hi Frank,
My router maybe 12 feet away but its aesthetically not possible to attach via cable, anyway....I didn't understand your post about nightly builds - I will try that build and see how it goes :) Thanks again for all your help.
