Restrict library to one folder

Postby SawaFish » 04 Jan 2015, 11:05

Can anyone help me figure out how to restrict RuneAudio to one specific folder on my external HDD?

I've hooked up an external HDD with 3 partitions, ideally I want RuneAudio to only use one specific folder in 1 partition for its music library. This is because I have both FLAC and MP3 versions of all my music, which makes my library rather large, and the updating takes forever...

I'm using a Raspberry Pi, the HDD is formatted with two exFAT and one HFS partition. I want to use a folder, and subfolders, on one of the exFAT partitions.

Hi SawaFish,
why don't you mount only that specific folder instead on the whole drive? You can specify the path in the "Remote directory" field.
Another option is to drop a file named .mpdignore in every folder you want to exclude from indexing.

Hi,

I am trying Rune audio since 20 min :-) Thank you for this great piece of software.

I am using a quite huge external USB HDD with constantly changing content (even on the top level) and unfortunately a lot of non music audio files. Working with .mpdignore is not possible (as far as I understood it) because even on my hdd top level I have constantly new folders.

Is there a way to include only specific USB mount folders (/music and /audiobooks) in the database update instead of the whole hdd? There is no configuration in the web GUI (like "Remote directory" field for Network mounts). Maybe be editing some symbolic links etc.?

Thanks a lot

Hi Frank,

But it only influence the NAS mount, not the USB HDD?!

Not sure if it works, but maybe worth a try.

I use mhddfs to make files from multiple usb SD devices show up as one mount point. Perhaps it can be used to similarly unify multiple mounts from one drive into one mount point. Read this thread for some details
