Postby rikardo1979 » 16 May 2016, 10:08

Just would like to share one of my projects.

This is Roberts 747 radio made in 1990. But yes, its not an ordinary old radio anymore as you may guess :)
It has RPi fitted inside and from this week running RuneAudio :)

rikardo1979 > Simple amazing! I love this project!!! Great work brother! And I love that Leonard Cohen album, what a voice, what a lyricist.

PS: I don't know, but may be better here....

That looks great! I think I like this better than my Pi2 preamp project (chuckle).

I used an old NAD 1600 preamp/tuner which has a half-empty chassis. All the circuit boards are on the right, and I used a large empty space on the left. At the time I did not have a Pi enclosure I liked, or an integrated display like the one you have from Audiophonics.

I tapped off power from one of the transformers (there were two), and I spliced the Pi player into one of the unused inputs and that was it. I was in the process of getting it better integrated with the controller board, but I was not exactly impressed with the sound, and did not have the time to investigate. It is sitting at home in a box in pieces, and there is not much to see. I may get back to it, but not right away.

I have pics of the latest acrylic case for the "headless" project in the diy section here. One version will have a 2-line display (when I get to it).
