RPi + Wolfson card trouble

Postby Lozzy_uk » 06 Apr 2016, 14:16

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting my Wolfson audio card to fire up with rune. I selected the Linux kernel 3.12.13-rt as I should, but I2S is greyed out and disabled. Is this correct? I have selected snd_rpi_wsp as my output.

I know my hardware works since a modified build of OpenElec 6.0.3 gave me audio out.

I was so excited to find you had included this card since it's awkward to get working compared to other cards, so I'd be really grateful if anyone can assist me in diagnosis and repair....

(Incidentally, I also get endless timeout problems if I modify and save things on the MPD page)

Here's my debug, and thanks in advance, Lozzy_uk

Lozzy,
Yep, this is correct. the i2s drivers are built in to the -rt kernel. And your audio output is set to snd_rpi_wsp is correct.

I too have a Wolfson DAC and just recently reinstalled Rune.

I'm assuming you followed the steps outlined wolfson-audio-card-patch-for-runeaudio-t213.html

You probably need to set the playback to lineout. The above link has the script to run. Search for Playback_to_Lineout.sh.

It is pretty easy but if you still run into questions, I'd suggest reply to the above thread.

BTW, I'm using HiassofT's port of OpenELEC with Wolfson DAC support with great success.

Oh, thanks. No I didn't realise I had to do anything else. I will have a go at the necessary steps asap.

cheers

Incidentally, I didn't mention it but I'm trying to use the SPDIF output. Should I expect to have a lockable 'carrier' signal even if I don't run any script? At the moment I have no signal at all on the SPDIF connector.

I only have tube gear but page 2 of the above link might provide some spdif help. I've only used the lineout.
