Rpi3 strange wifi/internet problem (solved)

Postby mo86 » 01 Jun 2016, 08:05

Hi there,

since yesterday I got a problem with my raspberry pi 3. I use it most for listening webradio and got it connected with the onboard wifi.

The strange thing is that only webradio isn't working anymore. Dirble only shows me the rotating circle.
But controlling the pi with the Android remote and SSH is working perfectly. I tried to update to a nightly build but it shows me an port error or something.

I already resetted my router and wifi repeater but that doesn't help.

The last test was to plug-in the LAN cable and suddenly everything is working!

Best Regards

Thanks, but it did run very well and quite fast on Wi-Fi since the last 4 weeks now.

There must be another issue. I got connection to lan but not to the internet via wifi it seems.

I solved the Problem.

Seems the automatic assigned ip-adress (192.168.2.199) from router suddenly had no connection to internet somehow.

Move to another ip-address was the solution, the change from DHCP to static ip-mode without changing the ip-adress didn't help...

Don't know why, but it runs for now. :D

I can't really say this is a user error. I never set static IP-addresses the last year's and never had any problems. Dhcp is working good so far.

I did another test:
I set to my windows PC the ip-address (192.168.2.199) that didn't work with runeaudio. And bingo: lan access, but no internet access. Then I tested it with 192.168.2.198 and everything works. It seems to be a router problem with this special IP-address. My rpi3 had this IP-address for about 4 weeks until that happened.

I can say that static IP is way better of course. Webradio is running better, got connection problems sometimes before, now it runs more than 24h stable.
