TEST UPDATE:

I've been playing around all night.
The conclusion is: 0.3 alpha runs much better than I was thinking in the beginning.

Installing wlan is a bit tricky, but it operates well with logilink mini adapter.
I wasn't lucky with Edimax. That one didn't really work for me. But no problem.

I even got direct smartphone connection running by making it a hotspot.

Library updates after every reboot although auto update is disabled.

Many radio stations don't work or start 1 time out of 10 trials. A few run safe. With jamendo everything is fine.

Now there are no frequently short connection losses anymore. That was a browser issue. With firefox or chrome on the mobile UI works solid. Although chrome interrupts sometimes, but you get easily back . That's a chrome bug and will be probably solved with next update.

So radio is the only real problem I see.
Fortunately I don't use NAS

The most important thing: SOUND IS THE COMPARABLY BEST AT THE MOMENT!

Well done!

Updated AirPlay test:
I use Airfoil, and it works well.

Then i start the Airplay, the MPD stops playing the music, but if i will start it again, with a Airplay stream running in the background, the Airplay stream keeps going. Is it possible to fix somehow? It's not a real problem at all, just a suggestion/feedback.

About the MPD overload problem, i now just starting the service again with "systemctl start mpd". It's okay for now i think.

I still have the problems with my NAS - even after reboot. But the "Remount all sources" also do the trick for me. But it's a bit ignoring to do everty time. Maybe it will be better, then the library update is done.

I've been doing more testing with AirPlay and still cannot see the runeaudio device. I've test from a Mac, iPad and iPhone (all running latest versions of their OS). I suspect that it's doing something because when I turn on or off airplay on Rune, my media player, which is running plex, pauses for a moment.

Shareplay must be broadcasting something when it starts or stops that is being picked up by the airplay receiver in Plex or perhaps there is a conflict between Rune's Shareplay and Plexes.

I'm looking for an AirPlay monitor of some sort to see if I can trace what's going on.

Any other ideas?

Perhaps a bug... I just noticed that if you disable FFmpeg decoder support and apply then RuneAudio disappears... The 'Connecting' animation spins endlessly.

I'll let it go for a little while longer and then reboot.

I'm having problems with the Wolfson Audio Card that are identical to what Nofx described. I've verified that the card is working properly with the image hosted on element14. Here are the steps taken:

1. Boot clean runeaudio .3 image.
2. Switch to Wolfson kernel.
3. Click apply settings.
4. Click reboot prompt.
5. Play a radio station from those available by default.
6. No sound. Debug information copied.
7. Click stop. Runeaudio crashes.

Here is the debug info:

Edit: Got it working. I didn't realize it was necessary to run the Playback_to_Lineout.sh script. I just copied it from Saman's patch package. Where are the scripts kept in this image, for the benefit of others?

Hi, and thanks for this great release of RuneAudio. It has retained that sweet, sweet RuneAudio presence sound quality, even with I2S support. especially using the default sound profile. (Björk's "It's oh so quiet" seems to be taxing for any system, and it plays just beautifully on mine using RuneAudio.)

Avahi-daemon is working correctly on my network. Cover art is working. NAS mount (cifs) works, and it shows up in sources and the library.

I really like the way you've implemented web radio, no more manual creations of pls/m3u files. Thanks for making the radio stations update without having to update the whole MPD library. Jamendo and Dirble works perfectly in every way.

Network is great, but everything seems to hang when I set a static IP on wi-fi. (I didn't try static IP on wired network.)

Some hires files seem to make the distro unstable now and then. The playlist appears to be empty, and RuneAudio hangs. A reboot has so far been the best way to fix the problem. I'm not able to provide debug info for these instances, as the web interface is unavailable. I'm sure it's related to the MPD bug that you mentioned in the release notes.

All in all, a very solid effort. I still like the way that you're doing incremental updates related to the core functionality of the platform.
