RuneAudio as a standalone system (server and client)

Postby JoergZ » 10 Jun 2015, 13:34

Congratulation! RuneAudio ist a very fine system and it works good on my raspberry pi. There are a few further questions:
Is it possible to install X-Server and e. g. LXDE desktop (and Midori browser) at a RuneAudio System?
Is it possible to use the eGalax 7" touchscreen or to use a modified (touchscreen) kernel with the RuneAudio distribution?
Is there a running ncmpcpp package for your system?
(Yes I know that I can manage RuneAudio by smartphone apps but I want to use a touchscreen for more rough usage in my workshop.)
Or must I use another Raspberry with a running touchscreen GUI as a client for RuneAudio?
Thanks

You can add an X server and all the necessary tools to run a browser and load RuneUI on it, but it may not be easy. Rune modifies some packages to fit their needs and you may want to make a copy of your sdcard before you start.

Hi JoergZ,

as Aquarius already wrote it is possible and should not be to hard to do.

A few things to be considered:
- do not make a system update (pacman -Syu), because this will break Rune Audio.
- use the new Raspberry Pi2, because it can handle the higher cpu load much easier.
