Runeaudio output limited to 44.1khz

Postby shattered_dream » 13 Mar 2016, 13:50

I´m using a raspberry PI2 with the hifiberry Digi +, on the output is a dac with the Ess9018 chipset...
According to my dac the output of the digi+ is always 44,1khz..
Is there anytrhing I have to do to get an output up to 192khz?

Some more information might help to help you: What source are you having, from where does it come, how is it connected to the Digi+, which connection do you have from the Digi+ to the DAC? Did you try different cable (some Toslink cables do have problems with high res audio signals - some people say it can't transfer 192 Khz). Did you try connecting the Raspberry Pi to the DAC without the Digi+?

Source is a nas, the raspberry is connected to it via lan port, mount is per smb.
Th connection between digi+ and dac is via coax cable, tried toslink too, both the same.
Conecting raspberry directly to the dac I did not test yet.....

Did you try playing the same files from a USB drive, attached directly to the Raspberry Pi? Just to rule out problems with the NAS and the ethernet. My set-up is a Rasperry with a Digi+ board. My music comes from an attached USB drive, which works great. I use a coax cable to connect to my active speakers. They only can handle 96 Khz files, but 192 Khz files play as well. Is the Digi+ activated in runeaudio's mpd configuration? The audio output should read "HiFiBerry Digi (I2S)".

Hmmm will try to attach a USB drive to the raspberry, but dont think this is the problem, the NAS is a QNAP, and with Kodi there was never a problem regarding this.
The Digi+ is active at the MPD.
Is there a config file whrere I can limit the output rate somewhere?

Got it running.....
Seemed to be the NAS...
Strange.... After doing a Firmware update of the NAS, it worked again......
