On my smartphone (5"-HD-Screen) sources menu looks fine. What ´s your definition of "small screen"?

@rern, figured out the Library ribbon pop-up...The Auto-update on the MPD settings page is the culprit....

Try to exclude the data folder from scanning (via context menu). Maybe it helps.
