Runeaudio still broken :-( Volumio 1.55 still works - sorry.

Hi,

A while ago I tried to use Runeaudio but found that both bonjour and airplay did not work on it.

The Raspberry Pi cannot be found by bonjour and airplay is really bad with incredible electronic distortion.

I switched to volumio and it worked perfectly out of the box.

Recently I got a Raspberry Pi 2 and thought I would try the Runeaudio image for it.

Amazingly it still won't work for me with exactly the same problems.

So with Raspberry Pi A, Raspberry Pi 2, Chord Hugo DAC and Chord 2Qute DAC Runeaudio is essentially usueless, but volumio works out the box.

Can anybody help getting runaudio working for me?

I have test your link and this is no functionnaly, the sound is distorded before and after modification

Bonjour and Airplay are "sound system" protocols. Designed to get you to stream music and downmixing everything to a fixed sampling rate, lowering the sound quality in the process.
While it's probably nice to have those around, I beleive the stated goal of RuneAudio is hifi. This means bit perfect as far as possible. So I understand if those "lesser" means of use are not as polished as the rest of the system. (yes, having both work well would be even better )

Downmixing is supposed to be bad, whatever the rate, but I see your point.
