Over the weekend I installed a Hifiberry Dac+ Pro on the back of my touchscreen. It will be fully encased in my case once I get a drill big enough but that is a project for next weekend.

On installing the card it was not recognised. I followed this thread:

hifiberry-dac-pro-t2954-10.html

And enabled the following in /boot/config.txt

device_tree_param=i2c_arm=on
device_tree_param=i2s=on

I also enabled:

device_tree_overlay=hifiberry-dacplus

As I could not find:

dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus

Making those changes got it working. Is that the correct way of enabling the sound card or is there a better way to do it?

Support for: 7″ Touchscreen Monitor for Raspberry Pi

This is my player with a Hifiberry Dac+ Pro mounted in the case. It is a tight fit. I got the inspiration from the instructable guide.

Hi,

does this image run on a new Pi 3? I'ved tried, but it is already hanging at startup and showing only the rainbow colored background.

My speakers are a bit off-center, so I usually use alsamixer to shift the balance a bit to the left. Do you know why alsamixer doesn't work in this image?

Thanks! Martin

[root@runeaudio ~]# alsamixer
alsamixer: error while loading shared libraries: libformw.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

P.S: I know this has been asked twice so far, but I haven't seen an answer or solution.

Thanks! The new image works great on the Pi 2, and Alsamixer works as well.

The volume control seems different: Before I was at about 20-30, now I need >50 to hear the same volume. Was this switched from logarithmic to absolute?

I am using hardware volume control on the Hifiberry Amp+.

Hi,

I installed the new image and logged in as root. When I start x-window I get the UI of runeaudio showing the playback screen. But I can do nothing, no clicks will be accepted. What can I do?

Thx.
