Hi Ralf,

thank you for your report.

I'm also not happy with the touch experience on midori.
At the moment i'm testing other browsers like chromium to see if it is an issue with midori.

I don't think its a midori problem. I've had moodeaudio running (raspbian based) with midori the same way as we now use runeaudio. This didn't had this problem.

Could it be an issue with arch Linux?

Been away - so only just got chance to download ... it looks great and loaded straight away with no issues - fantastic and thanks!

You asked for some feedback - so, comments so far (after only a short time using it) ...

# Sound output is fairly quiet and actually a bit noisy (sounds a bit like a fm radio with a weak signal) ... I guess this could be my Pi (I am using the in-built jack) - but I have had much better sound on a Pi in the past

# I have tried to get it to boot directly into the display (using settings - local browser - on - apply settings) ... but no joy (always re-starts needing password etc >> and when I look at settings it hasn't saved the local-browser-on setting). I am pressing the "apply settings" button underneath the local browser option.

# Bit confused by power off ... if I click this, the "turn off the player" box comes up ... but stays there >> are we meant to then just turn off at the wall at this point?

Hope this is useful

Thanks - will try all this tomorrow (no time today!)

But just wondering if I am testing most up to date version ... I downloaded from the Google Drive link you posted on December 8th ... But have just noticed you have also referred to a version on GitHub ??

For new folks (like me), the following may be useful ...

Editing files

if you want to edit a file (such as /root/.local/share/midori/styles/local-styles.css)
1) Login using ... username "root" and password "rune"
2) Type nano (opens the nano text editor)
3) Open the file you want to edit (you will need to type in the complete file name)
4) edit the file
5) Exit ... you will ask if you want to save the file ... select yes
6) it will then ask for the file name >> type in the same file name you used to open it with ... and save this

Oh ... and the keyboard settings must be in German ... confused me to start with >> took me a while to find / ... and never found { or }

Frank

Update on the issues I raised ...

A) Power off issue >> now sorted, after modifying the file you described (/root/.local/share/midori/styles/local-styles.css)

B) Autostart into browser >> the "local Browser = on" function is now working - not sure what I did different today - but it is working ... I can turn this off and on as I want

C) Sound issue >> NOT sorted ... see my earlier post on the error message I got when running alsamixer

Hope this is all useful

Hi Martin,

thank you for the report.

First i thought updating the kernel and some services may be sufficient to get the display and midori running.
As you can see it isn't, i should have known better!

I have to set up a new image right from the beginning.
