TE 8802 burson audio distortions and clicks

Good afternoon! I have a raspberry 3 and a DAC burson audio conductor input chip tenor te 8802 (not CM6631A) works correctly only 16 \ 44 all other frequencies from 24 work with distortions and clicks. how to fix this problem?

Hi superkiddy,

There is a good chance that the other frequencies are not supported by the TE8802 chip. A summary of the chip datasheet is here: http://www.gfec.com.tw/sites/default/fi ... PB-v20.pdf. The supported frequencies are specified (44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192KHz), both 16 bit and 24 bit resolutions are supported. The company never published a full data sheet for the public, only OEM's could access the details. The chip is obsolete and no longer in production.

What I don’t understand is why you are using a product with this chip. The chip is a USB 2.x to I2S converter, this seems strange as the Pi already has I2S output features. The chip was originally developed to be used with Windows to convert USB output to I2S. Any I2S DAC would probably be better suited for use with the Pi.

Hello Janui, thanks for the answer! I think I understand what is the problem. if I buy Burson Audio CM6631A Alternative USB Module for Conductor series it will solve my problem?

According to the datasheet for the CM6631A, it supports the same frequencies as the TE8802. The Burson Audio website claims that the CM6631A supports more frequencies (but this could be their implementation).

It is possible that the fix described for the CM6631A will also work for the TE8802. If not, Tom explains that it will work with the Burson Audio CM6631A module.

The TE8802 is a very interesting chip, and it works as it is incomprehensible. The main problem is that the frequencies switch correctly from the windows and only from Jplay and burson deletes the relay switches frequencies. From foobar aplayer and so on the burson frequency does not switch. With runeadio burson switches frequencies, but the distortions are just awful. Thanks for the advice, I'll ask Tom how his burson works.
