Teac UD501 unlocking when music stop playing with digipi +

Postby Drovich » 15 Jun 2016, 20:37

Hi and thanks for runeaudio and its sound quality !

I have a pi3 with the latest image runing with dac teac ud501. With usb connection, all work well.

I try with digipi + (digi+ from audiophonics with Wolfson WM8804G and audio Pulse PE-65612 isolator), update the config.txt, select digiberry + i2s in MPD menu.

It works and the music sound pretty good but the dac lock only when i play music. When i stop or pause music, the dac unlock coaxial or optical input like there is no permanent pcm signal with flashing message "coax Unlock" or "optical unlock".
If i press play, the dac lock the input. Is it possible that the dac stay locked when music stop playing ?
With usb, no problem like this.

Do you think there is a solution to this Concern ? Excuse my poor english, i am french.

Big thanks

Hi Drovich,

as far as i know, this is a mpd and driver issue.
So there is nothing we can do from RuneAudio.

Thank you for your answer. Audiophonics tell me that it s normal because raspberry is bitperfect and there is no mixer like in other drive to artificialy maintain pcm signal and lock...
Music plays properly. Before i never switch off my dac, now i just have to switch off the dac not to have the flashing message no coax input.
It s good for earth ;)
Amazing sound with rune and this digipi+ anyway ! :)
