Can a basic version for Pi 3 be released to keep us going, i.e. Ethernet and USB connection only (wi-fi optional)?

Hi guys,

I'm just bought my first PI for using rune. I'm really looking forward for the image for it. I tried the old one, but all i got was a rainbow image on starting the PI.

If you can't wait for the RuneAudio image for your Pi-3 you can use Moode instead (moodeaudio.org). You need to be able to add some files from Raspbian, but if you can you build a Pi-3 compatible image. See http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pc-based ... i-198.html post 1975 and post 1998 for the internal WLAN.
I did it and can play audio through my USB-DAC. I don't have a I2S dac so I cannot test it in that configuration, but I assume that it will work also.

No thanks. Your suggestion is a little disloyal, isn't it? The guys here at Rune deliver a great product so, personally, I am happy to wait a short time for them to deliver.

I looked at Moode once, because I'm open-minded. It's appearance and operation is not as clean and professionally-designed as RuneAudio - I didn't see it as an advantage. Besides, most people here cannot build an image so the suggestion is inappropriate.

I agree, the suggestion to switch to another program seems a bit inappropriate in this forum. After having tried both I also agree that Rune's interface is cleaner and its performance is significantly better than Moode. I will wait eagerly for Rune to support the RPi 3 before switching hardware.
