Transfer files from Rune to Windows

Hi

I'm not so familiar with linux so this is my question - How do I transfter a file from the Pi to my PC.
Both machines are in the local network, and I have a shared music folder on the PC which is recognized by Rune.

Are you using a USB device for storage?

Enter " \\192.168.1.13\music_store\USB " into your windows explorer window and you should be good to go. If you know the name of your USB device you can add it after USB above with a \ before the name and after USB in the address.

Once you have the window up you can just drag files from one window to another or copy and paste them. The transfer speed is a little slow for a big transfer and it may be better to do directly over USB connected to the Windows PC

Not sure I understand your answer (though I'm not near my computer yet..)

I'm storing files on my PC ssd, which has a shared folder named "music". So the NAS at Rune is at 192.168.0.101/music.
I need to transfer files from the Pi (any file, not currently shared) to the PC. You say I can do this dirctly from windows? How could I get access to the files on the Pi?

Where are you trying to move music from and to?

How is the music stored on your Pi?

If it is stored on a USB connected device you can just connect like I described above and move the files via Windows. The pi connected drive will act just like a shared/NAS drive.

If you are storing you music on the Pi's SD card then one of the mods will have to chime in, I forget the directory for that.

Files are not stored on the Pi. They are on a PC which is connected via Ethernet.

Hi dror,

easiest way is to use a FTP program like WinSCP see .

user = root
password = rune

Files can be copied in both directions.
