I have a very similar problem. I have a Rasberry Pi 2B connected via USB to my McIntosh c2500 preamp/DAC. At first, it worked great but the DAC seems to constantly get disconnected. I solved the problem once by rebooting the pi. After it happened a second time, after a reboot I don't even see my DAC listed anymore in the output area.
Please help
