Video UI via HDMI?

Postby jruben4 » 11 Apr 2015, 19:26

Just started working with RuneAudio, so this might be a dumb question -

I'm using my TV speakers as my audio output (via HDMI) so when Rune is playing, I need my TV on. The audio is working great. My question is, I'm just seeing a linux login prompt, which is kind of boring (and may burn in my screen).

Is there some sort of visualization that I can turn on (over the HDMI video out) to show what track is playing, screen art, etc? I know I can see that in my webUI, but I need something on the TV when I'm using the audio.

Thanks!

Hi ,
unfortunatly for you RuneAudio does not provide anything like that out of the box, as it's intended to be used as an headless player. But you can install third party stuff on your own, for example and .

Could ncmpcpp be running at the same time I'm using Rune's web interface to play/stop songs?

Yes, you can use multiple clients at once.

Are there any instructions out there on installing ncmpcpp on RuneOS? I played around with it but it's not straightforward...
