Hi Guys...

All that code stuff that Frank mentioned... I did not understand and I have ignored it....Yes...so can someone explain what I need to do...

I have (I think) installed the Digi+ on the Pi3. I think I have installed the rune music software. I can see it on a web browser... It looks GREAT!!!

But no noise

I have a red cross on my "Local Sources"... I have put some music on my NAS....it has an Ip Address of 192.168.1.200...it is in a folder called Clients\111-Music...then there is a folder....why...because there is a folder called "clients" and I have no idea how to make a new directory on the NAS...It is a QNAP....I have little idea how it works and if it fails it is a nightmare... I have to email QNAP...so not the most friendly thing.

I probably should get a HDD and attach it to the Pi3??? but lets get it working

I also put a track (flac) onto a USB...it recognised it...yippie...but no noise... I pluged the toslink cable into the Digi+

I suppose it is all the code I have no idea about??

Any suggestions.

In the browser, you should now be able to click on "MENU" in the upper right-hand corner of the RuneAudio User Interface (Rune UI).

Go to MENU > MPD > Audio output interface.

If everything is configured correctly, you should be able to select the HiFiBerry DIGI+ from the drop-down menu. If you see it, select it to send the audio to the optical output.

If you do not see it in the drop down list, you may have to edit the /boot/config.txt file again, to enable the DIGI+ board.

Please post what you see in the dropdown list in either case.

Thank you...

I am now listening to the internet radio via Rune - as we say in the bush....bloody bonza mate - meaning the quality far surpasses my expectaitons.

But I am not so lucky with my NAS....nor my USB. I think if someone could help with the NAS that is where (temporarily) I have the music all flac files...The NAS has a lot of stuff....but there is a lot of space.

As far as the help and the support and non-judgmental comments and need I say honest friendship...this place beats all the others. I felt like the poor cousin at the others....

So THANK YOU....

Next the NAS if anyone has any ideas...

foxint ...

I stream from my NAS (but it's not a QNAP).
If you can set up an NFS export on your QNAP then you can simply do this ...
In Rune go to MENU > Sources > +ADD NEW MOUNT then select NFS as the protocol and in the Remote Directory box enter:

/export/name of your music folder

Hope this helps
PS - There's a bunch of QNAP stuff on Google for example:

foxint ...
PPS:
KODI is a wdely used media player. You may find the link below helpful regarding NFS. The intro is informative and section 7.2.2 is specific to QNAP. Clearly only the QNAP setup info is relevant ...

Hope this helps

Hi foxint,

Notepad is not the right editor to view / modify files from a linux installation.
Sorry that i have forgotten to mention this.

Please use for this and will see the option to enable your DAC.

Hi Frank

Thank you....

I have no idea about this programme....there are 4 options tick boxes...they are all empty...do I leave them empty or do I tick any???

I am not sure what I need....

I just took a guess....it worked....

Now I have to attach a HDD to the Pi3....that will be interesting....
