WARNING - The loading layer (spinning arrows) - (solved)

Postby Mainman198 » 20 May 2016, 13:51

Hi Folks

I have been using Rune for a while on Rasp pi 2 and been and avid reader on this forum. Must say this is an excellent piece of software and when coupled with the IQaudIO Pi-DAC+ it makes my modest system sound superb. I have actively chosen Rune as I think the interface and underlying code is much better that some alternatives.

I am asking for help as I have experience a major issue.

I am getting the dreaded:

WARNING - The loading layer (spinning arrows) points to a socket error.

Web browsers and Rune Android app will not connect.

Have seen older versions on this issue on the forums and picked up a few leads. I have tried setting static IP from router & used differing networks to see if network issue. Cleared caches from browsers / tried to stop the div/loading in the browser page elements , this would temporarily stop the arrows loading so I could try to set to MPD in case it was a SharePoint / airplay issue but again no joy.

Now at this point. I have fresh installed RuneAudio_rpi2_0.3-beta and RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta onto 2 clean SD cards. Each one exhibits the same behaviour when trying to log on various browsers.
Using http://runeaudio.local/ loading page or the correct ip address I still only ever see spinning arrows. If I go to http://runeaudio.local/dev I can see settings but get the error messages loading on the corner of the screen telling me the above warning.

I can SSH into the Pi fine with both Rune images. I can see the Pi on the network. I can windows SMB connect to the file structure ok. I have even dropped the latest version of Raspian onto the Pi and connected and surfed ok so it looks like Pi is fine. I see the same issues on two separate networks. I am even running without the Pi-DAC+ just incase this was causing an issue.

Can anyone help explain and ultimately provide a fix on this issue?

Any Pointers welcome as I would like to get this up and running again.

I have followed the debug instructions and the pastebin link is below.

A big thanks to anyone who can help me.

Hi Mainman198,

your PIs are fine and all runs well on your images.

You have an issue with your PC / Browser.
Somewhere in your Network the network traffic (socket connection) from PI to your PC gets blocked.
Please check for currently installed, updated or running adblocking or other security software.

Hi Frank

Thank you for your help. I tried this at the weekend and success. It is often the simple answer that works. My work IT had updated the anitvirus product and blocked access. Once an exception added it was back to audio perfection again. I also had to delete the latest "Android system webview" to fix the issue with my phone app access. In the end I had two separate faults that just happened to manifest themselves at the same time, hence thinking there was a common issue between them.

Once again thanks to you and the teams efforts on this great piece of software and active support. I would encourage anyone to use this product on a rasp Pi with a DAC board as the will not regret it. It is a great way to re-purpose our older Pi 2's as we move to the Pi 3.

Please mark this as solved.

Simon
