WiFi not listing networks

Postby Harrz » 17 Oct 2015, 13:50

Hi, I'm trying to setup wifi for my Raspberry Pi 2 - Rune player, but the /network/edit/wlan0 page won't show me any wireless networks to select from.
The 'scanning for networks' gear is just spinning endlessly.

When I ssh into the pi and execute 'iwlist wlan0 scanning', I immediately get a list of all networks around.

Any idea what could be wrong?
I'm using the latest v0.3-beta (14/04/2015).
My wireless dongle is an EDIMAX EW-7811Un, the debug output can be found here: http://pastebin.com/vXmWFnE8

I find the same when using Chrome but it works fine with Microsoft Edge.

Hi Sprigo, do you see any error in Chrome's Javascript console (press F12 to open it) while performing the operation?

Hi Harrz,

your debug info looks good, nothing special to see.

Please post:
- browser
- OS

and try a different one, like Sprigo did.

ACX - I cannot see any obvious errors in the java console but I'm not exactly sure where I would find them. Whilst looking for any errors I noticed that things were working correctly. I deleted my stored profile, rebooted the device and the issue returned. I also see the same with FireFox but it looks like if I open both browsers I suddenly get the wifi list in both - odd.

@Sprigo: it seems similiar to other websocket related issues that have been already reported. Are you pointing your browsers to runeaudio.local or direct IP address?

I'm using the direct IP address.

Sorry for the late reply. I was trying with Google Chrome, Version 46.0.2490.71 m and connected via name (runeaudio.local).
Listing wifi networks works when using Internet Explorer (in my case 11.0.9600.18059) AND when using Chrome, but using the IP instead of the name.

There are no errors in the Chrome javascript console, but IE report an error on the main page:
SCRIPT5009: "locationbar" is undefined
File: openwebapp.1424619780.js, Line: 8, Column: 5

As a side note, Chrome is extremely slow also on other RuneAudio pages when accessing via name.

My OS is Windows 7.
