Windows USB Audio Class 2.0

Postby Discovery » 06 Sep 2016, 13:13

Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is an opportunity for RuneAudio or not but wanted to ask.

Microsoft have recently announced that Windows 10 will shortly have a USB Audio Class 2.0 driver, which apparently improves on the audio quality from a standard USB port, e.g. less jitter and goes up to 24/196 from the standard 24/96 limit. See: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insi ... d2b&auth=1

For those of us that use a USB connection from our Pi to a DAC, are we using the equivalent of a Windows standard USB port driver and the potential may exist for a better audio quality driver? Maybe the world of Linux is totally different. Views?

Regards,

Trevor
